FOCUS have a bespoke content management system: this allows them to update content on their site, create and delete secondary pages (automatically updating the navigation), add press releases (which are automatically archived) and upload documents and images. The key to an effective CMS is to make the administration area as intuitive and user friendly as possible. The FOCUS CMS also benefited from page preview functionality. This enables the client to preview the pages before publishing them to the live site and to keep them concealed if they are not quite ready to go live.
The challenge: To create a rich informational site while keeping the CMS simple, easy to use and cost effective. To do this we carefully planned the positioning of the editable areas on the pages and kept the fundamental templates to a minimum.
