Whatman, a multinational, multilocation pharmaceutical company, had hundreds of different products; this meant that clear navigation was essential to ensure that customers could locate the right product information.

The challenge: To make a four- tier navigation system easy to use. The site architecture was restructured by introducing a logical hierarchy of product and sector categories. A four-tier navigation was introduced: this is accessible from an expandable menu, and there are multiple ways for users to access the information they need within a few clicks. This is consistent throughout the site and the use of section colours and a breadcrumb trail helps users identify their location on the site.
